5 Wonderfully Nourishing Skin Benefits Of Mango Body Butter: DIY Recipe
Extracted from the seed of the mango fruit, mango butter has a ton of skin health benefits.
Unlike it’s 'heavier' butter cousins —cocoa and shea, mango butter has a more lightweight, silky texture. However, it is just as rich and super moisturizing.
A 2008 study reported remarkable results when mango butter was used alongside a commercially-produced lotion to treat cracked heels. It showed that a mango butter-based solution worked better to heal and reduce cracks and scars in skin. It also showed better results in its ability to moisturize.

🥭Mango Butter Benefits
🔸Omega-6 and 9 Fatty Acids are skin-loving lipids that help to support, replenish and strengthen the skin barrier. These wonderful beauty nutrients make mango butter extremely moisturizing.
🔸Vitamins A, C, and E are a powerful antioxidant combo that help to protect your skin from environmental damage. They also promote the skin's natural renewal process.
🔸 Magnesium and Potassium are essential beauty minerals that protect the skin against free radical damage, improve hydration, and speed up cell renewal. They also improve collagen levels helping to keep the skin plump and moisturized.
🔸Anti-inflammatory properties soothe and heal skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis. For these very dry skin types, mango butter also helps to keep moisture in and allergens out!

How I Use it: My Shower Routine
I started using this body butter recipe because my legs get so dehydrated, dry and scaly from shaving during winter. I hate it! So, to avoid this I created a shower routine that includes this amazingly hydrating whipped body butter.
Firstly, if I'm shaving my legs I apply my DIY brown sugar body scrub —recipe in the post link above☝️ I do this inside my shower before I turn the water on 'coz it's super messy! This means my legs are oiled up and moisturized (from all of the oils in the scrub) thus preventing my skin from being stripped when shaving.
As soon as I get out the shower I slather myself in body oil, pop on my robe (I never rub my skin dry) and carry out my skincare routine. By the time I get to my night cream step my body is dry and I apply my whipped mango butter to my legs and the rest of my body. By this point I'm so slippery I almost slide out of bed!
Goodbye dry, rough skin… Hello silky, smooth legs!
